Chapter 1

In the darkness, a boy stands, wearing a martial arts gi, consisting of a heavy blue shirt, black loose trousers, and a pair of black boots. He doesn't seem scared of his surroundings, as he has been in this darkness so many times before. Sensing that something is about to occur soon, he quickly ties a read headband across his forehead to keep his spikey brown hair up. The boy slides his left foot foward, as he shifts into his defensive stance.
'I'm ready for whatever opponent I get.'
As if this was some sort of signal, the shrouds of darkness vanish, revealing a destroyed city. A scorching orange sky towers over this graveyard, accompanied with gusting winds that carry the scent of death. Most of the skyscrapers remained standing, while other structures were not so lucky. Dead bodies were littered here and there, most of which had rotted away to the bones. The boy, surpised by his surroundings, relaxes from his stance and walks to the nearest building, which happened to be a convenient store. However, he didn't find anything of use here, as most of the food was gone from the shelfs.
"Of all the places, and I have to be stuck in a friggin' wasteland with no people and no food," the boy mumbled to himself. "And i'm now talking to myself... how pathetic."
The boy steps out of the convenient store just before a crimson ball of energy collides into the partially ruined store, completely destroying it.
Alert, the boy quickly searches the area, to find out where his attacker could be.
'Fuck.. I was too careless that time.'
Suddenly, a second ball of energy is fired, followed by a third and fourth. All of which were heading towards the boy. He quickly hops backwards from the first shot, and leaps up to the top of one of the smaller buildings, which surrounded one of the skyscrapers. He shifts into his defensive stance, as he soon sees his attacker, landing on a building directly opposite from the boy.
"I'm surprised there's still people in this city," the attacker said. "It looks like that I have another corpse to leave behind."
The man wore a device on the left side of his baldhead, which had a blue piece of glass over his left eye.  He wore black armour with yellow shoulder pads, covering his black suit underneath.
The boy remained silent.
The man laughed. "The strong, silent type are you?" He pressed a button on his device, and a series of numbers are running through the blue glass piece.
"Let me be on my way." the boy said.
As the numbers finally stopped cycling through, the man smirked. "For someone whose power is three thousand, I can't allow that." He switched his device off. "I have only one question before I kill you."
The boy continued to remain silent.
"Who are you? No person on this planet that I've encountered had a power of three thousand. Most of these people were lucky even to get to one thousand."
"...I'm Phoenix."
"Phoenix? What a fucked up name. Oh well, I should introduce myself out of politeness. I'm the Saiyajin commander and chief Nappa-."
"Remain nameless!!!" Phoenix shouted as leaped from where he was standing and flew towards Nappa at remarkable speed, with the building the boy was standing on collapsing under the pressure of an unseen force.
