Toji's World is a personal site that contains various nick-nacks of anime, gaming and other miscellaneous things. However, this only came to be after several years of trying to establish an identity for this site and, in fact, the original aim of this site was significantly different from what it is now. For those not familiar with the past history of this site, this will cover what it used to be like, along with the slow transformation in to its current incarnation.
Toji's World was launched on the 13th of May 2001. It was a "new world" that was intended to be a collection of information on various anime series, including Neon Genesis Evangelion, and the Dragonball Z and GT series, though it would eventually include Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. While certainly a lot of work was put in to the creation of the site, looking back on it now, it was just too much for one teenager to handle at the time, and I was probably too proud to seek help with getting all of the content up and completed. Consequently, while Toji's World up was and running along without too much trouble initially, it never really felt complete. Attempts were made to resolve this problem by trying to convert the anime information sections into seperate sites, but that idea never got off the ground. It was at this point, that Toji's World would begin to shift in its goals.
I started changing the site's aim in version 3.0, where emphasis would be placed more on art and written works. Sure, my work wasn't all that great at the time, but it started to be a lot easier to manage. I also managed to put together a small character shrine site for Street Fighter's Akuma, acting like a side show to the main site. There were plans to create an Evangelion site in memory of my old Evangelion site that I had back in 1999. While I was successful in doing so in later versions, it was not until version 6.0 where I decided to cut back on the anime site aspect of Toji's World, and also focus on the personal creativity aspect of the site, which allowed for greater flexibility on what could be included on the site. From that point onwards the site has continued along this personal/combo path - and here we are, nine versions later.
Even after all this time, and despite shifting between numerous hosts over the years, Toji's World is somehow still up and running. Though with the likes of wikis and social media being the norm, this site has lost its relevance in this day and age. However, while Toji's World is a relic of the early 2000s, it is a labour of love more than anything else. I like visual type work, and this site is a reflection of it. Though it is certainly hard to believe that Toji's World has come so far, looking back on the first layout that was created when I was but a high school student with aspirations to make the greatest anime site ever. About Version 9.0
Version 9.0, The Aqua Groove was released on 20/07/2012.
The layout of version 9.0 is a reference to Korra, one of the main characters from The Legend of Korra. She is the new incarnation of the Avatar that hails from the Southern Water Tribe which, along with the Northern Water Tribe, is associated with Water-bending, the art of manipulating water.
The name of version 9.0, The Aqua Groove is a reference to the song 魂のルフラン （ＡＱＵＡ ＧＲＯＯＶＥ ＭＩＸ）(Tamashii no Rufuran (Aqua Groove Mix)) - translated in English as "Soul's Refrain (Aqua Groove Mix)." I felt that the remix title for this particular song was rather fitting, given that Korra is a water bending Avatar, and so I created a theme centered around these two elements.

These are earlier, prototype designs that I put together that did not make the final cut. While some of these designs helped inspire the later designs that I would use for the site, there are some that bear no resemblence to the final designs, choosing to go in a different direction instead.
