Additional Information

Before he was Schwarzwald, he was known as Michael Seebach, a reporter for the Paradigm Press. Obsessed with the truth, he sought to bring to light the truth of Paradigm City, though his work was constantly being censored by the Paradigm Corporation, the monopolistic power of the city. Despite the Coporation's attempts to prevent Seebach's findings from coming to light, it eventually reached a point that they sought to silence the reporter permanently. Though the Corporation's attempt on Seebach's life failed, the reporter was undeterred and continued on, eventually discarding his birth name, and continuing on as the "Black Forest," Schwarzwald.

Despite believing Paradigm Corporation to be nothing but a source of corruption, and Roger Smith as a lapdog to the corporation, Schwarzwald has no interest in power for himself. If anything, he continues to stay true to his journalistic roots, believing that it is his duty to discover what happened 40 years ago, and why nobody remembers anything before that time. He hopes that his work will spur the "puppets" of Paradigm City to wake up, and break free from the strings of Paradigm Corporation. The reporter's conviction is so strong, that perhaps even death will not stop him from finding the truth.

Interestingly enough, Schwarzwald has some proficiency in speaking German, possibly implying that he was not originally from Paradigm City.
