The Matrix Reloaded

Australia's own Hugo Weaving returns as the smooth Agent Smith, well choreographed fights, amazing car chase scene.
Fights stretched out for too long, too much emphasis on visuals, minimal character development.
Review

The Matrix story continues on, and we finally get to see another part of the bigger picture. With Neo fully mastering his powers, things seem to be looking bright for the survival of the human race, for the moment.

The plot seemed to be a bit of a mish-mash to me. Pretty much the rebels hope to end the war by having make contact with a being known as "The Source". However, the machines are amassing a large force to invade Zion. Everything in between didn't really seem to have relevance to the film. Even Agent Smith's return was only briefly touched upon, and seemed to be ignored for the most part.

Character development was pretty shallow here. Even the new characters weren't given time to develop, save for Naobi. All the main characters seemed one dimensial, except Agent Smith, who showed a sense of style when confronting the man who destroyed him.

Music is pretty much the same kind of stuff used in the first movie. None of the songs really stood out to me, except for that music that played during the Agent Smith vs. Neo fight. It really did suit the mood.
I had some trouble trying to listen to the dialogue, though this may have been as result of the cinema I went to.

The fight scenes were pretty impressive, though the Agent Smith vs. Neo fight was my personal favourite as Neo was struggling a bit trying to take on a whole army of Agent Smiths. The car chase scene was pretty good too, accomplishing stuff that no other film has done.
The visuals, I felt had too much emphasis and not enough to project the plot properly. Also, why the hell was there so much sex in this film? If I wanted to see people doing it, I would go to a video store and buy porn.

WIth all the hype that surrounded this film, it wasn't all that great. The fight scenes were good, but it just wasn't as well constructed as the first film. Though it is recommended that you watch this film if you to watch Matrix Revolutions.
