Review

The first of many Evangelion soundtracks, this CD starts off very well. With the full version of the Opening theme, three different Versions of the Closing theme, and the rest of the orchestra type music done well. What I like is the variety, with joyful songs such as Barefoot in the Park, to others that bring terror, such as Marking Time, Waiting for Death.

One track I didn't particularly like was Track 9 (Asuka Strikes!). While it does clearly reflect the western background of Asuka, it just felt out of place in comparison to the other songs that are on this CD. Others may not feel the same way, but that's just me.

For the fans of Evangelion that really enjoy the series' musical score as well as the series itself, consider having a look in to this CD to start your Evangelion music collection.
