Real Grade

The Real Grade model kit line was introduced in 2010 to conincide with the Gundam franchise's 30th anniversary. This line was exclusive to the Gundam franchise until 2020, which then started to include Evangelion model kits, starting with Evangelion Unit 01.
Real Grades are defined by their small size, combined with their fine detail. For those familiar with Gundam kits, it is a mix of the High Grade's 1/144 size with the Master Grade's 1/100 detailing.

As befits more recent Real Grades, you assemble the inner frame, then assemble the armor pieces around it. What is surprising about the Evangelions in this line is that there while there are decals and other stickers to help highlight inner details, as is typical of Real Grade model kits, there are actually no colour correcting stickers required.
As the final Evangelion film was being marketed at the time of Evangelion's first RG release, the Evangelions utilise proportions more consistent with the films rather than the TV series. Also interesting to note is that these kits are not technically classified as 1/144 scale, as is standard for Gundam kits. To put it in perspective, these kits are taller than typical 1/144 scale Gundam kits, and just a little shorter than typical 1/100 scale Master grade Gundam kits.
