Believe it or not, the Perfect Grade line did not start with the Gundam series. It actually began with the Evangelion series, with the release of the below model kit. However, after the release of Evangelion's first - and only - Perfect Grade model, the Perfect Grade line shifted over to the Gundam series in 1998, starting with the RX-78-2 Gundam.
