Taking on the namesake of the great Decepticon leader himself, Megatron leads a small group of Predacon troops against a small band of Maximals in a conflict on a strange planet seeded with raw energon and mysterious alien structures. By gathering enough energon, Megatron hopes to return the Predacons to what he believes is their rightful place as rulers of Cybertron.
While on the surface Megatron may come across as an occassionally bumbling, perhaps even incompetent leader, this couldn't be further from the truth. In reality, he is incredibly cunning, and as the leader of a rag-tag group of Predacons, that cunning is necessary. While some of his troops are loyal, there are others among his crew who range from secretly plotting for greater agendas, to those who make no secret of their intentions to kill him. Though despite this, he feigns ignorance to all of it, using each of his troops' strengths and weaknesses for his own benefit, even going so far as to risk everything in the hope that they have something that will not only save them, but guarantee that Megatron will come out on top. While his enemies may think they're one step ahead of Megatron, the reality is that he is two steps ahead of them.
Among all this plotting and scheming is the Golden Disk that is in his possession. While it is rumored to predict the future, as well as contain information about locations of energon - information that would be greatly beneficial for reclaiming Cybertron from the Maximals - only Megatron himself knows the true nature of the disk, driving him to make the ultimate gambit for the ultimate prize.
