Additional Information

The RX-104FF Penelope was developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation as the first fifth generation mobile suit. With mobile suit combat moving away from space, the Penelope is designed to fly unassisted for extended periods in atmosphere. It accomplishes this by using a minaturised minovsky flight system, the same technology used in many Federation battleships.

Being the first mobile suit of its kind, the Penelope is the combination of the RX-104 Odysseus Gundam and the Fixed Flight equipment, which includes the minovsky flight system, mounted on to the Gundam. Because of the amount of energy required to power the Gundam, its weapons and the minovsky flight system, it is larger than typical mobile suits to accommodate for its bigger reactor.

Though the Penelope is equipped with a beam rifle, the majority of its weapons are mounted on to the mobile suit itself. It is equipped with a pair of multi-purpose shields - aside from serving as protection from enemy attacks, they also house missle pods, mega particle guns, and beam sabers. A pair of beam cannons are mounted on the shoulders, allowing the Penelope to hit targets from long distances.
Lastly, it is equipped with funnel missles. With conventional homing missles affected by minovsky particles, funnel missles use the pilot's psycho waves to hit its targets. A total of twenty are stored under the front and rear skirts of the Penelope.

Currently, it is assigned to the command of Captain Kenneth Sleg and his Circe Team for field testing. While already a formidable machine, Kenneth hopes to find a pilot that can draw out the Penelope's full potential.
