Additional Information The World is DIO's Stand, a being that is a manifestation of one's soul. However, while the effects and abilities of Stands can be seen by everyone, Stands themselves are invisible to non-Stand users. Being born from one's soul, the death of the Stand or its user means the death of both.
As befits DIO, The World is not only physically strong, but also fast and accurate, able to deliever one or a rapid barrage of attacks to devestating effect. The only drawback is that The World has a limited range of 10 meters, meaning DIO must get close to his enemy to effectively use The World.
However, despite the Stand's limited range, this is overcome by its ability: stopping time. During this period, DIO and The World can freely move - and even levitate - to avoid attacks, or deliver fatal blows to enemies. Despite this incredible ability, time can only be stopped for a few seconds at most, though this is usually more than enough for DIO to easily dispatch his enemies. Initially only able to stop time for 1 second, DIO has been able to extend this ability to 5 seconds, indicating that given time and practice, DIO could stop time for much longer.
Due to people being unaware of The World's ability to stop time, DIO can use his Stand to devastating psychological effect by pulling off feats that seemingly defy logic or reason. Even if his enemies knew the secret of this Stand, they would still have no way to counter its effect, making The World one of the deadliest Stands.
