The Swordfish II is a modified racer designed to be used by Spike Spiegel in his work as a bounty hunter. Due to its racing origins, the Swordfish II not only has the firepower, but also the speed to catch criminals. It is capable of not only operating in space, but also under atmosphere.
In terms of weaponry, the Swordfish II is equipped with machine guns on the tips of each wing. For the times when extra firepower, or a long range attack, is required, it also equipped with a ventral mounted, turreted plasma cannon. The wings also have hardpoints for mounting missles should the need arise.
The Swordfish II is a ship that has been used heavily by Spike Spiegel. Despite the years of abuse, the craft has continued to be surprisingly reliable, even after a decade of bounty hunting. Whenever it's not in use, it is usually stored in the hangar of Jet Black's Bebop.
