The Red Tail is Faye Valentine's personal craft for getting around the Sol Solar System. The most distinct feature of the Red Tail is the amount of weaponry that it is loaded with. It utilises a revolver/drum-like system, allowing the Red Tail to be equipped with various types of ammunition, including bullets, grenades, missiles and even smoke grenades. Alternatively, a pair of pincer arms can be switched out in place of the cannons for times when the Red Tail needs to transport or handle cargo.
Another unique feature is that unlike other small crafts, such as Spike's Swordfish II, the Red Tail is capable of vertical take off and landing - a handy feature for Faye when she needs to make a quick escape or quickly enter a dogfight. It also has an autopilot function that can be activated on voice command via a wrist mounted communicator that is disguised as a bracelet. This feature seems to only extend as far as homing in on Faye's current position.
Given that such a small craft with extensive weaponry would come with such a hefty price tag, along with Faye's astronomical debts, one would assume that Faye more than likely stole the Red Tail.
